Welcome πŸ‘‹

We have gathered eight steps for you to set up in order to get a successful start in MarketHype!

Step 1: Invite users to your MarketHype

You can easily invite colleagues to your MarketHype via Settings (βš™οΈ) β†’ Users β†’ Invite User. Your colleague will then receive an email with how the registration is made and needs to fill in the information required to create a user account.

Step 2: Activate 2FA

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring you to enter more than just your password to sign in, such as a one-time code sent to your phone number. We strongly recommend that you set this up as soon as possible to secure not only your own user account but also your organization's data.

Step 3: Activate your email account

To start creating and publishing signup forms, send emails, and start automated emails, your email account needs to be activated.

This is done by verifying your email domain and adding a sender profile.

In addition to adding the DNS records provided by MarketHype, we also recommend that you add DMARC to your domain. Read this article to learn more, or share it with the person who's helping you to add the DNS records.

Step 4: Export lists from your previous email system

Opt-out lists

Your email domain's reputation plays a big part in how your emails are delivered to different email clients. Therefore we recommend that you export the following lists from your previous email system to later import to MarketHype:

  • All email addresses that have bounced or marked the email as spam.

  • All email addresses that have opted out/unsubscribed.

Contact lists

Contacts that you want to continue communicating with in MarketHype. In case you have different communications groups, make sure to export them to separate lists. Examples of contacts and communications groups could be:

  • Subscribers

  • Media

  • Partners

  • Teachers

Important to think about

To maintain a good email domain's reputation, make sure to only export active contacts. Therefore recommend that you export:

  • Recipients that have opened an email within the last 3-4 months.

If you want help with how to export from your previous system, contact us at the message button to the right, and we will be happy to assist you!

Step 5: Import list to MarketHype

Opt-out lists

Once you have exported your opt-outs, go ahead and import them to MarketHype as an opt-outs list.

Contact lists

Before you go ahead and import your contacts lists, make sure to import the list to the correct subscription types in MarketHype, based on how you want to communicate with the contacts.

Subscription types help you store the consent for each contact but also work as digital email lists to help you keep your different communication groups separated.

If you are unsure of how to create the import correctly, please wait until our first onboarding workshop together.

Step 6: Integration to Meta

Do you want the possibility of exporting contacts straight from MarketHype to your custom audiences on Facebook?

Well, no time to wait - get your Facebook integration in place.

Step 7: SMS preparations

SMS has become a powerful communication channel. In MarketHype you will be able to:

  • Send broadcast SMS
To reach out with last-minute deals.

  • Set up SMS automations

To wish your contacts a happy birthday, or communicate with them before, during, or after their visit.

You need to have a sender name and a stop word to start sending SMS. Once you have decided, contact our Success Team, and they will set it up for you.

Step 8: Set validation time for Legitimate Interest

An essential part of your marketing communication is to keep track of marketing consent. MarketHype will help you organize and track who you can communicate with at any given time, and what type of communication you can lawfully send them. This is done by recording consents on one of two legal bases - Freely given and Legitimate interest.

Legitimate Interest

Freely Given

Meaning

The contact has not actively given you consent but showed an interest in your organization, such as buying a product of yours.

Meaning

The contact has actively given you consent, e.g., by signing up for your newsletter or by accepting marketing during the purchase checkout.

Validation time

Valid for a limited amount of time or until the contact itself unsubscribes.

The validity time is unique to your organization.

Validation time

No expiration date - it ends when the contact itself withdraws the consent by, for example, unsubscribing from your emails.

Legitimate Interest is set at two years by default, but you can go to Settings (βš™οΈ) β†’ Consent β†’ Validation time for Legitimate Interest to set your organization's validation timespan for the consent.

Step 9: Update organization contact details

The organization details can be used as merge tags in emails to share the organization's address, email, and name, so make sure the details are up to date.

That's a wrap! πŸŽ‰
