In this article, you’ll learn how to add a new contact to MarketHype and how to update an existing contact card.
Add a new contact
Add a new contact to MarketHype via a manual import.
Go to Imports → Create import.
Select Contacts as your import option.
Upload your file (CSV).

Update a contact card
Add an email address or phone number
Use this when you need to add a new contact method to an existing contact.
Open the contact card.
Click Add address in the Addresses section to add the new email address or phone number.
Adding an email address or phone number does not automatically subscribe the contact or create consent for that address. To assign a subscription type and consent, add it under Current subscriptions.
If the address already exists
MarketHype does not allow duplicates. If you add an email address or phone number that already belongs to another contact, you will be asked if you want to move the address to the current contact card:
Manage subscription types
Subscription types determine which communications a contact receives.
Add a subscription
Open the contact card.
Go to Current subscriptions
Click Add subscription.
Select the address, subscription type, legal basis, and reason for communication consent, and click Save.
Unsubscribe a contact
Open the contact card.
Go to Current subscriptions.
Hover over the relevant subscription type.
Click Unsubscribe and confirm.
If you need to unsubscribe several contacts at once, consider importing an opt-out list instead. Read more about importing an opt-out list here.
Unsubscribing stops communication, but it does not remove the contact from your MarketHype. If you need to remove personal data, anonymize the contact instead. Read more about anonymizing a contact in this article.
Change name, address, and other personal details
If you need to change anything other than email/phone number or subscription types (for example name or postal address), you must do a manual import to overwrite and update the existing values. Read more about imports in this article.
If a contact is verified, it is not possible to update their contact information via manual import.
