Zapier is an automation platform that allows you to build workflows between different apps. For example, if you frequently update your Google spreadsheet with new members, create a Zapier workflow between your document and MarketHype, and all new members will automatically be imported to your MarketHype.

To benefit from this, you must sign up for an account on Zapier's website. Since MarketHypes Zapier is private, we need to send you an invite to connect with MarketHype. Send us a message in the chat or to success@markethype.io, and we will happily invite you.

Step 1: Create a new Zap

Once you have accepted our invitation, you can create a new Zap! Go to Zapier and click on Create → New Zap.

Step 2: Trigger setup

App & event

First, you select what app and event the workflow will be based on. For example, Google Sheets, where the event is when a new row is added, or a Facebook lead ad, where the event is when a new lead is created.

Account

If you haven't already connected to the chosen app, Zapier will ask you to do so before you continue to the next step.

Trigger

When the connection is in place, you choose the trigger. For example, which Google spreadsheet and worksheet should be used as triggers.

Test your Zap

Testing your Zap is a great idea to ensure everything works properly.

Step 2: Action setup

App & event

This is where you select MarketHype, and the event to be Create/Update contact.

Always choose the latest version of MarketHype (MarketHype latest).

Account

For the Zap to work, you need to connect to your MarketHype account by generating an API key.

You generate the API key in your MarketHype by entering Settings → API keys → Create API key.

Make sure to save the API key in a secure place if it's needed again in the future. Once it has been generated, you won't be able to access it again.

Once you have the API key, return to Zapier and fill in the key as the account.

Action

Just like when you do a manual import in MarketHype, this is where you map the data collected from the trigger, such as name, email address, etc. You also need to choose what subscription type they should end up in, what legal basis to use, and their opt-in date.

Subscription type

The subscription type is manually filled in by adding its ID. To find the ID, go to Settings → Subscription types. Hover over the subscription type and click on "Edit", the ID is the ID reference shown on this page.

Copy the ID and return to Zapier to paste it under the Subscription type element.

Opt-in date

For MarketHype to fetch the opt-in date, it must be filled out correctly. The correct format is year-month-day (2023-01-01).

Test action

Once you have mapped all fields, test your Zap to ensure everything works smoothly!

Step 4: Publish

Happy with the result? Click on Publish to start the Zap, and the workflow will work automatically.
