The contact card is everything MarketHype knows about one person, gathered in a single view. The left side of the contact card shows who the contact is: profile details, addresses, subscriptions, segments, and insights. The right side shows what the contact has done: the emails and SMS they have received and how they interacted with them, the orders they have placed, and the events they have attended or are going to.
Find a contact
Go to Audience → Contacts.
Use the Search field to find a contact. Searching with an email address usually gives the best result.
Use the Audience filter to narrow down the list.
Click on a contact in the list to open their contact card.
Add a new contact
Contacts are added to MarketHype through a manual import.
Click Import contacts in the upper right corner.
Select Contacts as your import option.
Upload your file (CSV).
Read more in How to: Import contacts.
Profile details
The top of the contact card shows the contact's name, along with details such as gender, age, and city.
Click All profile details to see everything MarketHype knows about the contact.
These details are read-only. They come from your integration, manual imports, signup forms, and verification.
Verified contacts have a green check under their name. Read more about verification here.
Update personal details
To change anything other than addresses and subscriptions - for example name or postal address - do a manual import to overwrite the existing values. Read more in How to: Import contacts.
ℹ️ Note: If a contact is verified, their contact details cannot be updated through a manual import.
Addresses
This section shows the contact's email addresses and phone numbers. Click an address to open a panel with the subscriptions connected to it, and an activity log of consent events.
Add an email address or phone number
Click Add in the Addresses section.
Enter the email address or phone number and save.
ℹ️ Note: Adding an email address or phone number does not subscribe the contact or create consent for that address. To do that, add a subscription.
If the address already exists
MarketHype does not allow duplicates. If you add an email address or phone number that already belongs to another contact, you are asked whether you want to move the address to the contact you have open.
Delete an address
Click the address.
Click Delete address at the bottom of the panel.
Subscriptions
This section shows the subscription types the contact has consent for, and how many of their addresses each subscription covers. Click a subscription to see its addresses and legal basis, and to unsubscribe the contact.
Add a subscription
Click Add in the Subscriptions section.
Select the address, subscription type, legal basis, and reason for communication consent.
Click Save.
Unsubscribe a contact
Click the subscription in the Subscriptions section.
Select the address you want to unsubscribe and confirm.
Unsubscribing stops the communication, but it does not remove the contact from MarketHype. To remove personal data, delete the contact.
💡 Tip: If you need to unsubscribe several contacts at once, import an opt-out list instead.
See the subscription activity log
Click Activity log next to Subscriptions to see subscription-related events, such as unsubscribes and manual spam complaints.
Segments
This section shows the segments the contact currently belongs to, and the date they entered each one.
Click a segment name to open the segment.
Click View all to see every segment the contact belongs to.
Read more in What are segments?
Lifestyle insights
Lifestyle insights is a premium add-on that enriches contacts with demographic and lifestyle data. If the contact could not be identified, the section tells you so.
Read more in Lifestyle insights overview.
Custom attributes
This section shows the custom attribute values set for this contact. Values are added through an import.
Read more in How to: Manage custom contact attributes.
Delete a contact
Open the contact card.
Click Delete contact at the bottom of the card and confirm.
Deleting a contact anonymizes them: the personal data is removed and the contact can no longer be found or contacted, but the order history is kept for reporting. Read more about what happens, and about consent if the contact later re-enters MarketHype, in How to: Delete contacts.
⚠️ Important: Deleting a contact cannot be undone.
The Email tab shows the emails the contact has received, both regular emails and automations. For each email you see the email name, the status, and which address it was sent to.
Use the search field at the top of the tab to find a specific email.
See how the contact interacted with an email
Click an email to open Email details. The activity log shows the interaction history for that email: sent, delivered, opened, clicked, and bounced.
SMS
The SMS tab works the same way as the Email tab. It shows the SMS the contact has received, both regular SMS and automations, and clicking one opens its details and activity log.
Orders
The Orders tab shows the orders the contact has placed.
Events
The Events tab shows the events the contact is connected to, both past and upcoming.
