Quick summary
Zapier sends new contacts from other apps to MarketHype automatically – no manual imports needed.
All you need is a Zapier account and an API key from MarketHype.
Map contact details and add marketing consent: subscription type, legal basis, and date given.
Always use the date format YYYY-MM-DD for consent dates.
Step 1: Create a new Zap
Zapier connects apps through automated workflows, called Zaps. MarketHype is available in Zapier's app directory, so you can get started right away.
In Zapier, click Create → Zaps.
Step 2: Set up the trigger
The trigger is where your contacts come from and what starts the workflow.
App & event: Choose the source app and event, for example, Google Sheets → New spreadsheet row or Facebook Lead Ads → New lead.
Account: Connect your account in that app if you haven't already.
Trigger: Choose exactly what to listen to, for example, which spreadsheet and worksheet.
Test: Run a test so Zapier has sample data to work with in the next step.
Step 3: Connect MarketHype
Search for MarketHype and choose the Create/Update Contact event.
When Zapier asks you to connect your account, paste an API key from MarketHype.
Create an API key
Click your organization name in the top-right corner and go to Organization Settings → API keys and click Create API key.
⚠️ Important: Save the API key somewhere secure. You can't view it again after creating it.
Step 4: Map your contact fields
Map data from the trigger to fields in MarketHype – for example, first name, last name, email, phone number, birth date, and address.
Add marketing consent
Subscription types: The ID of the subscription type. Click your organization name in the top-right corner and go to Organization Settings → Subscription types. Click the subscription type and copy its ID reference number.
Legal basis: The legal basis for the consent: Freely given or Legitimate interest.
Date given: The date the consent was given.
Reason (optional): For example, where the consent was collected.
⚠️ Important: Use the date format YYYY-MM-DD (e.g. 2026-10-01). Other formats, such as DD/MM/YYYY, can be misread, which gives the consent the wrong expiry date.
💡 Tip: If your source app uses a different date format, add a Formatter by Zapier → Date/Time → Format step before the MarketHype step.
Step 5: Test and publish
Click Test step and check that the contact appears in MarketHype as expected.
Happy with the result? Click Publish, and new contacts will be sent to MarketHype automatically.
