Many email clients do not support videos in emails, and the risk of ending up in the spam filter gets higher. Therefore, it is not possible to embed a video when using the email editor in MarketHype.

However, we do have a workaround for you! πŸ’‘

Instead of embedding the whole video, you can create a thumbnail (a snapshot from the video), making the recipient click on it and redirect them to the relevant video.

This can be done in two ways:

Alternative 1: When creating the thumbnail directly in MarketHype

  1. Choose a snapshot of the video you want to include in the email.

  2. Go to MarketHype application β†’ Images and click on Add image β†’ Design with Canva. It's free to use this application, and if you go this way, the image ends up in your MarketHype directly.

  3. Edit the snapshot in Canva and add a Play icon to make the recipients click on it.

  4. When finished, click on Add to MarketHype in the top-right corner, and the image will be uploaded to your MarketHype.

  5. Go to Marketing β†’ Email and open up the email in which you want to include the thumbnail.

  6. Add an image element to your email and insert the relevant photo. Click on the picture, and the edit content bar will appear. You will find the section Action and Image Link, where you add the link that will redirect the recipient to the actual video when they click on the image.

Alternative 2: If creating the thumbnail in another application

  1. Go to Images, click on Add image β†’ Upload, and choose the relevant image.

  2. When uploaded, go to Marketing β†’ Emails and open up the email in which you want to include the thumbnail.

  3. Add an image element to your email and insert the relevant photo. In the edit content bar, you will find the section Action and Image Link. Here you add the link to the video the recipient will be redirected to when clicking on the image.
