If your ticketing system offers renewal links for Ticket bundles (season tickets, subscriptions, etc.), you can add them to your MarketHype to make it easier for customers to renew their bundles for the upcoming season.
In short, this is done by manually importing the renewal links as custom attributes to use them as merge tags in your email. The merge tag will then generate each recipient's renewal link.
Step 1: Export the file from your ticketing system
The file must hold at least the following columns and values:
Email address to the customer.
Renewal link for the ticket bundle.
Order date (optional but recommended for the opt-in date).
If you have several ticket bundles, such as "Ticket Bundle Red" and "Ticket Bundle Blue," we recommend working with them in individual files to ensure easy handling.
Step 2: Reuse/Create a custom attribute
If you have worked with renewal links before, you can reuse those custom attributes for the upcoming ticket bundle. The new links you import will overwrite the previous link for the contacts part of the new import.
If you want to update the attribute names, head to Attributes and hover over the attribute to Edit it.
Create a new custom attribute
Head to Attributes in MarketHype to create a Custom attribute per new ticket bundle.
Make sure to select the data type Single choice since this data type can be used as a merge tag.
If you have customers with different ticket bundles, you must create a custom attribute for each ticket bundle so that customers receive renewal links for all their relevant bundles.
Step 3: Import the file
Proceed with the import by following this guide.
Map the columns containing the email and the renewal link to the appropriate attribute in MarketHype to ensure that MarketHype understands which contact to add the renewal link to.
Step 4: Add the links to your email design
The custom attribute will now be available as merge tags to send the correct link to each recipient.
Pick up the merge tag
When placed in the button, open the merge tags drop-down to select the correct merge tag.
Add it to a button
Copy the merge tag code and add it to a button's action URL.
Step 5: Send the email
To select the recipients, use the Orders Made filter to include the customers who bought the previous Ticket bundle.
Step 6: Send a reminder email
To remind those who haven't renewed their ticket bundle, duplicate the first email, use the same filter, and exclude those who ordered the upcoming bundle.
