What is display filters?

With display filters, you can send one email to a large number of recipients but let the content vary based on the recipient. Powerful, right?

In the recipient filter, you select the total number of recipients as usual. Additionally, you can add display filters to one or several contents to make your emails even more personalized. For example, you could include specific information shown only for season ticket holders or a special offer shown only for recipients who have not yet made an order.

Add a display filter

To add display filters to your email, go to the editor where you design your email. You can add filters to different elements such as rows, images, text, buttons, etc.

Start by selecting the block to which you want to add a filter. Then, look for the "Display filter" option in the toolbar on the left-hand side.

Click on "Limit which recipients should see this content," and the MarketHype filter will appear on the right. Use the filter to choose which recipients should see this content. You can find more information on how the filter works here.

Finally, give your filter a name and click save.

See, edit, or delete

When a filter is applied, it will be indicated by the content having a green border instead of the regular blue.

To edit or delete a filter, click on the content and then click either the green eye icon at the bottom right or the pen icon in the toolbox to the right.

Reuse a display filter

An added display filter will be accesible as a quick filter in the same email. When adding a display filter to a new block, these filters will be found at the top of the MarketHype filter for you to reuse.

Preview and test

Click on the "Preview and test" button to review your email before sending it.

By default, the preview will display how the email will appear for recipients who don't match any of the added display filters. You can update the preview by using the switch in the upper right corner to show how the email will look for recipients who match one or several display filters.

Share preview link

The display filter switch will also be available when you share a preview link with your colleagues, allowing them to review the email differently based on whether recipients match one or several display filters.

Send test email

If you choose to send a test email, the email will include the content shown on the preview page, which you can adjust by toggling one or several display filter switches.

Email size

Below the switch, there is an email size indicator that updates when display filters are added. It provides information about the size of the emails to help you monitor and ensure they are not becoming too large.
