By exporting contacts to Meta, you can create a new or update an existing Meta custom audience with contacts from your MarketHype database. The custom audience can then be used as it is to reach your contacts with marketing messages across Facebook and Instagram or as the source audience for a Lookalike audience.

We export the following data points to Meta:

  • Contact ID

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Birthdate

  • Email

  • City

  • Zip code

  • Country

  • Total purchase amount

Meta will use the information included in the export and match it against Meta users. The actual audience will most likely include fewer people than the number of contacts you've exported. There will be contacts who don't have a Meta account or haven't provided enough information for Facebook to find a match.

For the export to be possible, integration to an ad account is required.

Step 1: Select the target group

Click here or go to Audience โ†’ Overview.

Open the filter button to the left to select the target group you want to export. When you are finished, click Save and you will be redirected to the Audience overview.

Step 2: Make the export

The Export button is found to the right. Click on it, followed by Export to Meta, and select in the following:

  • Ad account

  • Meta audience

When finished, hit the Export button. You will receive an email when your audience is available in Meta.

Meta audience options

Existing Meta audience

All your existing audiences in Meta will be visible here. If you choose one, the export audience will be added to the same audience in Meta.

Create audience

This option allows you to create a new audience in Meta. Before continuing the export, you must give the new audience a name and description. You can also choose whether to "include Lifetime value" or not.

Lifetime value

If you plan to use your new custom audience as the source for a Lookalike audience on Meta, consider including lifetime value in your export. This will provide the total lifetime purchase amount for each contact.

A standard Lookalike audience uses all contacts to find similar users, while a Value-based Lookalike audience focuses on individuals similar to your highest-value customers.
