Most ticketing and booking systems we integrate offer the opportunity to collect a "freely given" consent as part of the checkout flow. Furthermore, the purchase itself can signal an interest in your business and could grant a "legitimate interest" consent as well.

Under Settings > Consent, you can configure which subscription types the different consents automatically shall be assigned to when contacts are imported via an integration.

Assign legitimate interest consent

To assign one or several subscription types to collect legitimate interest consent, choose the required subscription types and click save.

Example:

After consulting with your legal advisor, you have agreed to send marketing information to customers for up to 12 months after purchase based on legitimate interest, as long as they have not unsubscribed. Therefore, you can add the settings to automatically assign legitimate interest consent to specific subscription types, such as "Marketing,"

More on defining the validity time of your legitimate interest consent is available here.

Assign freely given consent

To assign one or several subscription types to collect freely given consent, choose the required subscription types and click save.

Example:

Let's say you have a checkbox in your order checkout process where customers can check "Please send me exclusive offers and updates." Since the customer explicitly agreed to receive offers and updates from you, freely given consent is assigned to them.

In MarketHype, you select which subscription type to assign to contacts by checking the checkbox. For example, you may want to assign consent to both the "Marketing" and "Newsletter" subscription types for all explicit opt-ins. This way, you have the option to communicate with them separately by sending an email or SMS to the subscription type "Newsletter."
