MarketHype separates communication into two different types, "marketing" and "non-marketing" information. Every time you create a new email, automation, or SMS, you will be asked to set the type of communication on your dispatch.

The choice will affect the rest of the process, helping to ensure that you only send your email or SMS to contacts with whom you have the lawful right to communicate on that topic.

Marketing communication - Consent is needed

Types of marketing communication could be:

  • Marketing emails or SMS

  • Newsletters

  • Upcoming events or campaigns

Consent from the contact is required to send this type of information.

When selecting this communication type, you must specify one or more subscription types in the recipient filter to include contacts with consent.

To make your dispatch even more targeted, use other filter blocks to select your recipients further.

Non-marketing communication - Consent is not needed

Types of non-marketing communication could be:

  • Canceled event or arrangement

  • Changed time of event or arrangement

  • Information before an event or arrangement

This information could reach contacts, whether they have valid consent or not.

Therefore, this option does not allow you to select subscription types. Instead, the other filter blocks are used to select the recipients.

Do not include marketing or other non-vital information when using the "non-marketing information" communication type.

As Spider-Man's uncle once said:

With great power comes great responsibility.
