Files imported to MarketHype need to be in CVS and UTF-8 format. If you use a different format, the guides below will help you convert your file.

Convert an Excel file to UTF-8 format


To convert an Excel file to UTF-8 format, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Excel file.

  2. Click on "File" in the top left corner.

  3. Click on "Save As".

  4. Choose where to save your converted file in the "Save As" dialog box.

  5. In the "Save as type" dropdown menu, select "CSV (Comma delimited)".

  6. Click on the "Tools" dropdown menu and select "Web Options".

  7. In the "Web Options" dialog box, click on the "Encoding" tab.

  8. Select "UTF-8" from the "Save this document as" dropdown menu.

  9. Click "OK" to close the "Web Options" dialog box.

  10. Click "Save" to save your file.

Your Excel file will now be saved in CSV format with UTF-8 encoding.

Convert a Numbers file to UTF-8 format


To convert a Numbers file to UTF-8 format, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the Numbers file that you want to convert.

  2. Click on "File" in the top left corner.

  3. Click on "Export To" and then select "CSV".

  4. In the "Export Your CSV File" dialog box, choose the location where you want to save your converted file.

  5. Click on "Advanced Options".

  6. In the "Advanced Options" dialog box, select "Unicode (UTF-8)" in the "Text Encoding" dropdown menu.

  7. Click on "Next" and then click on "Export" to save your file in CSV format with UTF-8 encoding.

Your Numbers file will now be saved in CSV format with UTF-8 encoding.

Convert a Google Sheet file to UTF-8 format


To convert a Google Sheets file to UTF-8 format, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Sheets file that you want to convert.

  2. Click on "File" in the top left corner.

  3. Click on "Download" and then select "Comma-separated values (.csv, current sheet)".

  4. Once the CSV file is downloaded, open it in a text editor (such as Notepad on Windows or TextEdit on Mac).

  5. Click on "File" in the top left corner of your text editor.

  6. Click on "Save As".

  7. In the "Save As" dialog box, choose the location where you want to save your converted file.

  8. In the "Encoding" dropdown menu, select "UTF-8".

  9. Click "Save" to save your file.

Your Google Sheets file will now be saved in CSV format with UTF-8 encoding.
