We have gathered a few ideas on different signup automations to create. We hope they will inspire you.
In this article, we have focused on email automations, but you can set up SMS automation similarly for contacts who subscribe with their mobile number.

Welcome new subscribers
Greet new contacts after they sign up via your signup form. It could, for example, be a simple "hello and welcome" to your newsletter, but you can also take the opportunity to let the person get to know your organisation more, introduce your social media channels, or just let them know what to expect when subscribing to your emails.
Tip! Get personal and make the subscriber feel extra welcome by using a merge tag, such as first name.
How to create:
Find the signup automations under the section "Nurture your subscribers" and choose "Welcome new email subscribers".
Choose which signup form should trigger the automation.
If you have more than one subscription type connected to the chosen signup form, choose which one you wish to send the automation to. If you only have one, this will be pre-selected.
Set up when the email should be sent. As this email aims to welcome contacts that signed up for your emails, a suggestion is to send it out when they confirm their subscription.
Name your automation.
All the rules are set, and you now have the option to filter the recipients further. This is done by using the "Add a filter" block.
Design your email to wish them a warm welcome.
When done, start the automation, and all contacts who have signed up via your signup form, will receive the communication as soon as they confirm their subscription.
Encourage new subscribers to place an order
So, you got new subscribers to your emails, that's great! Now you have a channel where you can try to convert them into buyers, too.
Create an automation that should be sent some time after they signed up for your emails, if they have not yet placed an order.
In this email, make sales and inspiration your main focus.
How to create:
Find the signup automations under the section "Nurture your subscribers" and choose "Convert email subscribers to buyers".
Choose which signup form should trigger the automation.
If you have more than one subscription type connected to the chosen signup form, choose which one you wish to send the automation to. If you only have one, this will be pre-selected.
Set up when the email should be sent. Decide how long after a signup is made that the contact should get a nudge to place an order.
Name your automation.
All the rules are set, and you now have the option to filter the recipients further. This is done by using the "Add a filter" block.
The filter is pre-set to exclude contacts that have already placed an order. Click on the "Add a filter" block if you wish to edit that setting.
Design your email to encourage them to place an order.
Once complete, start the automation, and the email will be sent to the contacts who have signed up via your signup form but have not placed an order after signing up, within the timeframe you specified in step 4.
Use signup automations for pre-sales
If you work with pre-sales, a signup automation can be a great channel. Create a signup form explicitly for people interested in your pre-sales, and set up an automation that sends out an email when someone subscribes.
If you have any current pre-sales at the time of the signup, an email containing information and a link to the purchase flow could be added. If there are no pre-sales available at that moment, provide customer service by letting them know that you will email them when they become available (you will easily find access to these contacts if you create a separate subscription type for them).

Set up when the email should be sent. As the purpose of this email is to give information about pre-sales, the suggestion is to trigger it so that it is sent when the person confirms their subscription.
Name your automation.
All the rules are set and you now have the option to filter the recipients further. This is done by using the "Add a filter" block.
Design your email, giving them information about current pre-sales or informing them that there are none at the moment. If the latter, don't forget to email all the subscribers once you have a pre-sale coming up.
When done, start the automation, and all contacts who have signed up via your signup form will receive the communication as soon as they confirm their subscription.
