What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring you to enter more than just your password to sign in, such as a one-time code sent to your phone number.

The importance of this is not only for the individual users' security but also for the whole organization, where all customer and order data is stored.

How to set it up

The 2FA setup is found under Your profile → Account security. Simply click on Setup two-factor authentication, and you will be redirected to a new tab where you get to choose your preferred method besides your regular password:

  • Auth0 Guardian app

  • Google Authenticator or similar

  • SMS

Once the verification has been successful, you can close the tab and continue to work in MarketHype.

Using SMS

Fill in your number, and a verification code will be sent to your phone.

Using the Google Authenticator or similar authenticator app

This method requires you to download an authenticator app of your own choice to your mobile device. Scan the QR Code using the authenticator app and then enter the provided one-time code.

Using the Auth0 Guardian app

This method requires you to download the Auth0 Guardian app to your mobile device. Scan the QR Code using the app on your mobile device and verify the verification in the mobile app.

Change method

If you need to reset your 2FA, for example, if you change your phone number, head to Your profile → Account security, click on Reset 2FA to choose your new preferred method, and follow the steps.

Check user status

Each organization will be able to see if a user has or doesn't have 2FA activated. This is done under Settings (⚙️) → Users.
